Description: Variety of white to yellowish fibrous gypsum with very beautiful reflections on the surface, like a "cat's eye". Its name comes from the Greek selenitis, "moonstone", because it is said to show the brightness of the moon. It is found in large quantities in the vicinity of Bologna, in Emilia Romagna (Italy).
