Jasper picasso stone is a rock that is formed by the sedimentation of several layers of crystalline materials and sometimes even clay.It is formed of limestone containing calcium carbonate. Jasper can be of volcanic or sedimentary origin. It is essentially composed of more than 80% silica. The colour of picasso jasper stone is characterised by various shades of grey with black, beige, brown, red or blue streaks or spots.
The main deposits of jasper stone are found all over the world, but the best known are in Germany, Brazil, the United States, France, India, Madagascar and the Urals in Russia.
